TAMPA - A U.S. Army flag that was flying in Afghanistan at the hour of Tampa police Cpl. Mike Roberts' death will be presented to his widow, Cindy, this afternoon.
Tampa police Detective Steve Prebich and Officer Mike Schultz, who are Army reservists, are home on leave and will make the presentation at 2:30 p.m. at District II, 9330 N. 30th St.
The flag was flying over Afghanistan Command Headquarters when Roberts was fatally shot Aug. 19 after a brief struggle near Nebraska Avenue and Arctic Street.
Humberto Delgado Jr. is charged with first-degree murder in the slaying. He has pleaded not guilty.
