" ... ObamaCare basically means that every time you are sick or injured, you will have a clerk from the Department of Motor Vehicles telling your doctor what he can and cannot do," wrote comedian/pundit Ben Stein. This might not be such a bad thing if it came to be.
Considering that insurance giant AIG required a huge taxpayer bailout and the DMV did not, it seems silly to hold up the DMV as somehow less efficient than an insurer. I've enjoyed nearly five decades of cordial dealings with the DMV. As long as I remember to answer their mail, I get my registration, tags and choice of license plates accurately and on time.
While I highly value my physician, I wish he could be as prompt. Somehow, regardless of the party in power or temperature of the economy, the DMV seems to chug along quietly and efficiently.
