FALL FESTIVAL: The Knights of Columbus Council11680 is hosting Fall Fest 2009 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish Church, 5340 High St. The event is cosponsored by the West Pasco Sertoma. The festival, which concludes Sunday afternoon, includes carnival rides, games, food and beer. In addition, there will be live musical entertainment under the tent.

REV YOUR MOTOR: The Cotee River Bike Fest will be from 5 to 10 p.m. today; 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday in downtown New Port Richey and Sims Park. Two stages - one at Sims Park Amphitheater and the other on Grand Boulevard - will host the event's 15 performing acts.

Pasco County Sheriff Bob White and the Sheriff's Foundation is putting on its fourth annual 50-mile charity ride throughout west Pasco. The ride benefits the PACE Center for Girls. Brothers Powder Coating and the magazine Florida's Full Throttle will be sponsoring two shows, one for vintage bikes on Saturday and a ride-in show on Sunday. FLUTE FESTIVAL: The seventh Silverhawk Native American Flute Gathering features continuous entertainment from 9 a.m. Saturday until 6 p.m. Sunday at Withlacoochee River Park about 41/2 miles east of Dade City.

The event will feature vendors selling food, clothing, Native American regalia, and arts and crafts, among other items. Plus, there will be flute players, singers, storytellers, drummers and didgeridoo players.

ABOUT LOVE: The Showcase Arts Foundation's Repertory Company will perform "Almost Maine" at 7 p.m. Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday, at the New Port Richey Public Library, 5939 Main St.

The comedy stems from the John Cariani play about the perils of romance.

A $10 donation is recommended for the performances.

CREATE A SCARECROW: The annual Scarecrow Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Meridian Avenue and Sixth Street in downtown Dade City. The family festival is designed for children who can make their own scarecrows. There also will be old-fashioned carnival games, a large bounce house, pony rides, hay rides, and various vendors. DINNER AND A SHOW: Aripeka Elks Lodge 2520, 9135 Denton Ave., Hudson, will present comedy, music and singing by John Charles beginning with dinner at 6 p.m. and the show 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 prime seating; $28 regular seating. For reservations, call (727) 868-2994, ext. 14.

REMEMBERING OLD TIMES: The annual Old-timers Picnic will be held at Clayton Auditorium on the Pasco County Fairgrounds on State Road 52. Dinner will begin at noon but those attending can arrive early for visiting with other Pasco County old-timers. Fried fish will be provided by the picnic committee. People not on the committee are asked to bring a covered dish to share. Donations will be accepted to cover the cost of the fish. The annual picnic is open to anyone who has lived in Pasco County 25 years or longer.

DRIVE YOUR TRACTOR: Garden tractor pulls will be held at the Pioneer Florida Museum and Village, located a mile north of Dade City off U.S. 301. Weigh-ins will begin at 9 a.m., with the pulls starting at noon. Pull classes range from stock to super-modified. There are classes for youth and adult pulls. The entry fee is $10 per class.

Free admission is provided to the puller and the parent of a youth puller. Spectator admission is general admission to the museum: $6, adults; $5, seniors 55 and older; $2, children ages 6 through 18; free for children younger than 6. Parking is free. YEARS OF LEARNING: Sacred Heart Early Learning Center, 32245 St. Joe Road, St. Joseph, will celebrate its 25th anniversary from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a 25th anniversary Mass and covered dish dinner. Sacred Heart Catholic Woman's Club will provide the meat and drinks. All past and present employees, parents, children, and other family members of Sacred Heart Early Learning Center are invited to attend and bring a dish to share. A cookbook commemorating the 25 years of service to the children and church will be compiled and attendees should bring recipes to be included.

PAGEANT TIME: The Miss Rattler Pageant will be at 2 p.m. at Dan Cannon Auditorium. Hosted by the nonprofit Rattlesnake and Gopher Enthusiasts Inc., or RAGE, the pageant will select winner in five age groups to reign at the 43rd annual San Antonio Rattlesnake Festival on Oct. 17 and 18 in San Antonio City Park. Age groups are: 4 through 6, Princess Rattler; 7 through 9, Sweetheart Rattler; 10 through 12, Pre-Teen Rattler; 13 through 15, Teen Rattler; and 16 through 18, Queen Rattler. Applications will be accepted at the door for $60. Registration will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., with an optional rehearsal from 1:15 to 1:45 p.m. Contestants will be judged on casual wear, gown and personal introduction, as well as poise, personality, communication skills, and overall appearance. No pageant experience is required.

A winner will be selected, along with three runners-up in each age division. Each winner will receive a crown, banner, trophy and flowers. Runners-up will receive trophies and flowers. All participants will receive trophies.

Winners must be available to make appearances and participate at the Rattlesnake Festival and Western Wear Contest at the festival, as well as throughout the year at RAGE functions. RAGE also will host the Rattlesnake Western Wear Contest, for boys and girls ages 4 through 15. The contest will be held at 2 p.m. Oct. 18 during the festival. Age groups for girls, "fillies," and boys, "colts," are 4 through 6; 7 through 9; 10 through 12; and 13 through 15. Contestants will compete in western wear.

Winners in each age group will receive belt buckles. All participants will receive trophies. The entry fee is $10 and the deadline to enter is Oct. 18. Applications are available by calling (352) 588-4444 and www.rattlesnakefestival.com.

BENEFIT PLANNED: A corn toss tournament to benefit the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life in San Antonio will be held at 1 p.m. at San Antonio Restaurant, 32625 State Road 52. The entry fee is $30, with a portion of the fee going to the Team USA, formerly the Million Dollar Baby team of Relay For Life. Prize money will be awarded to the winning team, as well as second-place finisher. Additional places might also receive prize money depending on the number of entries. The field is limited to the first 32 two-person teams to enter. Registration will begin at 11 a.m.

BOO BASH: Tickets are available for the upcoming Boo Bash and ninth annual Auction Extravaganza, presented by the Dade City Woman's Club. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 30 at the Dade City Woman's Club on Palm Avenue. Included will be food, live auctions, a fortune teller, a costume contest and a cash bar.
