TAMPA - Alonso capped off a difficult fortnight with a Homecoming win against Chamberlain.
The Ravens were without head coach Mike Heldt, who was suspended after a cursing incident during a Sept. 28 loss to Hillsborough that cost defensive coordinator Dale Rude his job. Assistant coach Kevin Diez took over for Heldt.
"It's been a tough two weeks around here," Diez said. "We are right where we want to be and we looked pretty good tonight. We are capable of putting up points but you have to give credit to this team with what it has put up with."
The Ravens (3-3) jumped to a 6-0 lead on their first possession when Cody Varrelli ran it in from the 1-yard line. They missed the extra point, but the Ravens came back with a touchdown on their next possession when Bennett found Jameel Gay in the corner of the end zone for a 30-yard strike.
Bennett, who has given a verbal commitment to Wyoming, finished 17-for-21 for 231 yards and four touchdowns. Gay caught three touchdown passes for the Ravens.
"That was a total team effort and that's what we need to win." Diez said.
