LAKELAND - Berkeley Prep's rushing attack was in full swing, accumulating 264 yards en route to defeating Lakeland Christian in front of a homecoming crowd of 1,585.
Bucs sophomore running back Nelson Agholor rushed for 182 yards and two touchdowns. Agholor also caught a 19-yard touchdown pass. Freshman running back Chris Williams contributed 60 rushing yards.
Quarterback Destin Nichols was 6-for-12 passing for 172 yards and two touchdowns for Berkeley Prep (4-1). Christian Hardegree caught four of those passes for 103 yards.
Lakeland Christian (1-3) started strong by forcing two fumbles and capitalized on them by scoring from 5 yards out on a run by quarterback Ryan Parrish and a 36-yard field goal by Daniel Hughes. But things would soon unravel for Lakeland Christian once Agholor got hot, rushing for 97 first-half yards.
The Lakeland Christian offense, which had been averaging 114 passing yards per game, was stifled by the Bucs defense that held them to just 10 passing yards for the game. LCS didn't complete its first pass until there was 4:20 left in the third quarter.
