TAMPA - Michael McDermott threw four touchdowns while leading Cambridge Christian to a home victory against Lakeland Santa Fe Catholic.
Three of McDermott's four touchdown passes came in the second half.
Cambridge Christian struck first on a 6-yard pass to running back Brandon Park with 10:28 left in the first quarter. The Hawks tied it on a 5-yard touchdown run by fullback Robert Aranda. The touchdown was set up by an interception by BJ Knauf.
The second half was all Cambridge. Running back Chris Brown turned a screen pass into a 45-yard touchdown to give the Lancers a 14-7 lead. The Lancers then forced the Hawks to punt on the next drive and Brown was there to block it. Cambridge turned it into a 19-yard touchdown reception by Park.
On Cambridge's next possession, McDermott hit wide receiver Robbie Robertson for a 22-yard touchdown pass for a 27-7 lead.
The dagger came with 8:13 left in the fourth quarter on an interception by linebacker Hayden Kelley.
