RUSKIN - Jesuit's Bobby Eveld threw three touchdown passes as the Tigers rolled to a victory against Class 2A-District 5 opponent Lennard on Friday night.
Eveld completed 18 of 22 passes for 265 yards and no interceptions.
Eveld marched the Tigers 69 yards on their first drive. Jesuit scored on a 21-yard strike from Eveld to receiver Ben Gutowski.
"Once we got a rhythm established on the opening drive, we got control and kind of stayed in that the rest of the time," Tigers coach Joe Ross said. "Our defense set us up nicely on some key turnovers."
In the second quarter, a bad handoff resulted in a Longhorns turnover. Jesuit went 60 yards in six plays, and Eveld threw a 26-yard pass to Will Schaefer to give the Tigers a 14-0 lead at the half.
Lennard fumbled on the first play of the second half, and Robby Garcia scored two plays later on a 4-yard run.
The Tigers forced four turnovers - an interception and three fumbles. One fumble was returned 20 yards for a score by linebacker Taylor Doan with no time left.
Longhorns quarterback Fred Porter completed 16 of 32 passes for 153 yards.
