TAMPA - Newsome played the spoiler role for Robinson's homecoming, rolling to 293 rushing yards on 46 carries in an impressive victory.
Robinson suffered its first loss of the season, dropping to 4-1, while Newsome improved to 2-3. The Knights defense had allowed 40 points for the season.
The Newsome Wolves were led by junior running back Conner Powers, who was unstoppable all night, getting 25 carries for 170 yards and four touchdowns rushing, and he added two catches for 40 yards. His younger brother, Keller, had 11 carries for 54 yards and one touchdown rushing. Darnell Tucker added 11 carries for 69 yards.
Wolves quarterback Matt Klenke threw only four times, finishing 4-for-4 for 68 yards and one touchdown. The defensive star for the Wolves was Vince Pennington, who had 2.5 sacks.
For the Knights, Blake Rice was 10 of 17 for 199 yards and one TD passing. Wide receiver Byron Pringle had five catches for 135 yards and one TD. The explosive Frankie Williams had the play of the game, a 95-yard kick return for a touchdown, his fourth TD return on the season.
