TAMPA - Phillip Ely threw four touchdowns as Plant routed Gaither.

On Plant's second offensive play, Ely threw a perfect pass to a wide open DeAndre Queen for a 30-yard touchdown as the Panthers took an 8-0 lead.

In the second quarter, Ely threw for another TD pass by connecting with Allen Sampson who made some cuts around defenders for a 41-yard score.

The Plant defense came up with some big plays to preserve the shutout, including James Wilder sacking Gaither QB Zach Conden and causing a fumble. Defensive end David McCarthy scooped up the fumble and rumbled in for a 20-yard score.

On Gaither's next possession, Plant's defensive line struck again as Matthew Suarez caused a fumble and the Panthers recovered. A few plays later, Ely hit TJ Glover for a 10-yard score. Glover scored a third time, returning a punt 34 yards to give Plant a 49-0 halftime lead.

Before being replaced in the second half, Ely completed 8 of 18 passes for 197 yards and 4 TDs, while Sampson caught three passes for 101 yards and 2 TDs.
