VALRICO - Bennie Coney threw for three touchdowns and ran for another as Plant City (3-3) defeated Bloomingdale (0-5) at Charley Harris Stadium.
Coney connected on two scoring strikes in the final 2:05 of the second quarter to break a scoreless tie. Coney hit Michael Harris for 24 yards to end a four-play, 63-yard drive and then found Lamarlin Wiggins for 45 yards on the final play of the half. Tight end Jordan Prestwood caught Coney's last touchdown pass from 11 yards out with 6:20 left in the third quarter, capping an eight-play, 71-yard drive. Patterson then had 32 yards rushing on the final touchdown drive in the fourth quarter when Coney ran 8 yards to finish the scoring. Coney was 12 of 21 for 173 yards passing.
Bloomingdale, coming off a bye week, had 176 total yards. The Bulls drove deep into Plant City territory in the fourth quarter, but failed to score.
