NORTH NAPLES - Authorities are looking for a bear that was shot at while trying to get inside a Lee County home - three times.

State wildlife officials say the bear first tried to get in through a back door Sunday night. It then tried the garage and the front door. The family inside called 911 each time.

Lt. Michael Frantz with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission filed a report saying a man inside the home fired three shots at the bear. The animal fled into the woods and has not been seen since.

Lee County Sheriff's Office deputies and wildlife officials could not find a blood trail and do not believe the bear was shot. Authorities say the man does not face criminal charges for firing at the bear.
