KISSIMMEE - Police in central Florida arrested a man in connection to fatal beating of toddler for soiling his pants at dinner.
Police said the boy's mother has not been charged, but her boyfriend, 19-year-old Jonathan Alicea, was arrested Sunday and is facing a charge associated with the 2-year-old boy's death. He is held without bail in the Osceola County Jail.
Police say the boy died on Monday in a hospital.
Police reports say Alicea told police the boy lost consciousness after being shoved to the ground for urinating in his pants. Authorities say he told investigators he tried CPR and then poured a pot of boiling water on the boy to revive him.
A Department of Children and Families spokeswoman says there are no prior investigations into the family.
