HOLIDAY - A 49-year-old woman was arrested by Pasco County sheriff's deputies Wednesday night, accused of drunken driving with a child in the car.
While at the scene of domestic dispute, a deputy saw Phyllis Jane Taylor of Whitleyville, Tenn., pull into a driveway on Villa Rosa Drive. She had the smell of alcohol on her breath when she got out of a Mazda, a report states. A second deputy arrived to conduct a DUI investigation and noted that Taylor's eyes were glassy and bloodshot, she was sweating profusely, and her speech was slurred.
She failed the field sobriety test and recorded a blood-alcohol level of 0.178, the report states. That's more than twice the level at which state law presumes impairment.
An 8-year-old child was in the car with her, the report states.
Taylor faces charges of DUI and child neglect. She is being held at the Land O' Lakes Jail with bail set at $10,000.
