TAMPA - The Freedom Patriots (3-2) capped their homecoming week celebration with a hard-fought win against the visiting Bloomingdale Bulls (0-6). Tyler Guy led the Pats with 112 yards passing and threw for one touchdown. Guy also picked up 74 yards on the ground and a rushing touchdown.
The Pats clinched the victory when Amonty Delisca raced down the sideline for a 45-yard touchdown with 1:34 left in the game. The run was set up by a clutch interception by defensive back Josh McDougald.
The Bulls scored the game's first points on a 6-yard run by Derrick Johnson, which put the Bulls up 7-0 with 6:28 left in the first half. The Patriots responded with Guy's 56-yard touchdown pass to T.J. Mutcherson, and Alex Landeta added a 47-yard field goal to put Freedom ahead 11-7 heading into halftime.
Guy had a 4-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter for an 18-7 advantage.
Johnson scored again for Bloomingdale after catching a pass from Joe Campaomor and darting through defenders for a 68-yard touchdown with 8:27 left in the game. Johnson finished with 152 all-purpose yards.
