SEFFNER - A woman died in a mobile home fire Tuesday night, Hillsborough County Fire Rescue said.
The fire department received a report just after 7:30 p.m. of a fire at the Plantation Oaks Mobile Home Park, located off of Aladana Drive and Alafara Street, fire rescue said.
The fire was most intense toward the back of the mobile home. The woman who lived alone in the home was found in the front of the home, investigators said.
Officials haven't identified the victim or the cause of the fire. The fire remains under investigation, fire rescue said.
Neighbor Keely Worthington said she discovered the fire when she came home from work. She said she saw an orange glow in her neighbor's windows.
She tried to alert the woman in the home, but never got a response.
"I pounded on this door, the one that was on fire, didn't get a response," Worthington said. "I pounded on the glass, didn't get a response. The glass was hot to the touch."
