Pasco boys finish third in 1A-8 tourney

Crystal River blew past the field at Hernando Oaks Golf Club on Monday to collect the Class 1A-District 8 boys golf team championship.
The Pirates earned a team score of 338 and were followed by Orlando Bishop Moore (362) and Pasco (367).
The top two teams advanced to next Monday's regional tournament, which will be held at Saddlebrook Prep's Palmer Course in Wesley Chapel. The event tees off at 7:45 a.m.
Bishop Moore's Kentaro Toyota, who shot 77, was the medalist. Also scoring for the Hornets were Marc Doucette (87), James Nelson (94) Scott Hiteman (104) and Dan Megiel (104).
Pasco's performance, only five strokes behind Bishop Moore, was led by Winton Johnson's 88 and Stephen Lavelle's 90. Austin Riddaueh finished with a 96, followed by Jaxon Moore (98) and Eric Clayton (99).
