USAA to add 200 jobs in Tampa

TAMPA - USAA's topsy-turvy growth in Tampa is taking another turn.

The financial services company plans on adding 200 people to the ranks of 1,772 workers in Tampa, adding a banking and investment operation to the company's insurance work.
Company executives say at least 80 of those 200 new jobs will be added from outside the company, with the rest likely coming from other USAA locations or people already with USAA in Tampa.

This comes after a February announcement that USAA would bring 400 new jobs to Tampa. In April, the company disclosed the figure would be lower, although it would not say by how much.

Based in San Antonio, Texas, USAA is a membership organization providing auto insurance, investment and other financial services to military families.
USAA stands for United Services Automobile Association, though it generally goes by the name USAA in the market.

The vast majority of USAA employees in Tampa work with auto and home insurance products.

The company's main location is at 17200 Commerce Park Blvd. in North Tampa, near Interstate 75 and County Road 581.

Compensation for new jobs was not disclosed.
