ZEPHYRHILLS - It was not a good start for Zephyrhills senior Sarah Baniszewski: A 10 on her scorecard and on her favorite hole.
"That's very uncharacteristic of her," Bulldogs coach Kenny Burgess said.
However, Baniszewski pulled it together, and even though no Pasco County team in Class 2A-District 6 advanced to next week's regional girls event, the county still will still be represented.
Baniszewski earned an at-large bid thanks to shooting a 90 during Monday's district tournament at Silverado Golf and Country Club, the Bulldogs' home course. That was despite two water hazards on No. 1 to start the round.
"She struggled a little bit today since it was cold and windy, but that was for all players," Burgess said. "She lost a bunch of strokes on that hole but put together a big comeback."
Ocala Lake Weir junior Heather Proctor shot a 5-under 66 for the overall individual title. Baniszewski came in fifth with her 90 and advanced.
