TAMPA - A cool front that was supposed to give us another dose of that fine fall weather over the weekend looks more like it will fizzle before it reaches the Tampa Bay area.

Also, the chances for rain with the front's approach on Saturday dropped from 40 percent to 20 percent, and that's over Hernando and Citrus counties. The rest of the region is expected to remain dry.

There is a slight chance for rain on Sunday, forecasters say.

And though some drier air will dribble in on Sunday after the front moves through, things will warm quickly during the day and through next week, the National Weather Service says.

So instead of getting a repeat of the fall weather we had last weekend, we'll get afternoons 5 degrees or so above normal, and highs should hit the mid- or high 80s in the afternoons through Wednesday.

Forecasters at the weather service office in Ruskin aren't putting much weight on the possibility an area of disturbed weather in the Caribbean will have a huge impact on our weather.

The area of low pressure tucked against Central America is still poorly organized, and any development could be slow, forecasters at the National Hurricane Center say.

Forecast models are split on what the system will do. Some have it hovering near the same place or even drifting over land and into the Pacific Ocean. Others project it moving slowly north toward the western end of Cuba by next week.

Also, a tropical wave that hurricane center forecasters were watching in the Atlantic Ocean dissipated overnight and is no longer thought to be a threat to develop into a storm.
