LARGO - The Florida Highway Patrol is asking the public for assistance in finding a silver four-door Ford pickup involved in a hit-and-run crash that left a 41-year-old man dead Thursday night.
The pickup was heading west on Ulmerton Road just after 8 p.m. when it struck a pedestrian near Belcher Road, the patrol said.
Tony Allen Sorenson, of Fort Myers, was killed, patrol spokesman Larry Kraus said.
The pickup, perhaps a Ford F-150, sustained major damage on the front driver's side, Kraus said.
Westbound Ulmerton Road near Belcher Road has reopened.
