DAYTONA BEACH - Daytona International Speedway officials have announced plans to create a new area that will feature a go-cart track, Ferris wheel, kids play area and other attractions.
Speedway President Robin Braig said Wednesday that construction has already started and is scheduled to be finished before the next Daytona 500 in February. The zone, located next to the Superstretch grandstands outside Turn 3, will only be open on Daytona 500 day.
The cost to get into the area will be included in the $55 Superstretch admission.
