NEW PORT RICHEY - Family members and co-workers say Lynda McAdams and William "Ryan" Andrews are responsible adults who don't go days without contacting family and friends. And they don't skip out on work.
So when the pair seemingly vanished Sunday, loved ones got worried. Now the Pasco County Sheriff's Office is seeking help from the public in locating them.
McAdams, 46, of 17928 Palomina Lake Drive, Dade City, and Andrews, 37, of 7128 Cedar Crest Road, New Port Richey, are co-workers who are involved in a relationship, sheriff's spokesman Kevin Doll said Thursday.
Detectives don't know whether they are together, he said.
Relatives are assuming they are.
McAdams is 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighs 140 pounds, has long reddish hair and wears glasses. Andrews is 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighs 165 pounds and has short brown hair.
Andrews drives a silver Toyota Tundra with Florida license plate number W391ZV.
McAdams, Doll said, is going through a divorce.
No filings were found in Pasco County Circuit Court.
Michael McAdams, her husband, could not be reached for comment on Thursday.
Andrews spent part of the weekend celebrating his father's birthday near Ocala. His stepmother was the last person in the family to speak with him after he returned home about noon Sunday, his sister-in-law, Emily Andrews, said Thursday.
McAdams last spoke with one of her two daughters about 9:30 p.m. Sunday.
Attempts to reach them by telephone have failed. Their cell phones don't appear to be working, authorities said.
Clayton Andrews went to his brother's house after finding out Wednesday he had not shown up for work. His truck was gone, but nothing appeared to be packed up, Emily Andrews said. His razor was still there, as was his cell phone charger. He left a battery charging for his small boat because he planned to go fishing Sunday, she said.
Emily Andrews, of Largo, said it is "highly unusual" for her brother-in-law not to be in touch with the family for so long.
The same goes for McAdams, Doll said. That's why authorities are concerned, he said.
Relatives are working with Pasco detectives to find the couple.
Andrews' relatives drove from his home to McAdams' home, a ride across the county along some dirt roads. They were checking to see whether they might have had an accident along the route, Emily Andrews said. They have checked hospitals and have called friends and co-workers.
Darren Veneri, human resources director for Bic Graphics in Clearwater, said the pair work together at a St. Petersburg production center. Co-workers became concerned when the longtime employees didn't return after the weekend.
"We're all worried over here, as you can imagine," he said. "We're all scratching our heads at this point."
Anyone with information should call the sheriff's office at 1-800-854-2862.
