Tampa police arrest 4 in Craigslist prostitution sting

TAMPA - Two suspected prostitutes and their drivers were arrested Thursday night in a sting set up using Craigslist, Tampa police said.

Detectives say they made contact with two women over the online trading post and had set up meetings at a motel room on North Dale Mabry Highway. Both women showed up with drivers within an hour of each other, police said.

The first arrived just after 9 p.m. Thursday. Ashli Brown, 19, of South Carolina, told the undercover detective she would trade sexual acts for money and was arrested on a charge of offering to commit prostitution

When she initially refused to give her real name, she was charged with resisting arrest without violence. She remained jailed this morning. Bail was set at $750.

Police then went outside and arrested the driver of the car that brought Brown to the motel. Ernest Floyd Wright, 26, of Atlanta, was charged with deriving support and proceeds from prostitution and possession of marijuana after police found a small amount of the drug in the car. Wright also was charged with driving without a valid driver's license. He remained in jail today. Bail was set at $2,750.

An hour later, a second set of suspects showed up at the motel room, police said. Alisa Marie Pierson, 19, of Port St. Lucie, offered to perform two sex acts for money, saying her services would cost $200. She was charged with two counts of offering to commit prostitution and remained in jail today. Bail was set at $500.

Police said Pierson told the undercover officer that she split the proceeds with the driver of the car that brought her there. Outside, police approached the car, and the driver drove away. She was pulled over a short distance away and arrested without incident.

Korey Dunkle, 23, of West Palm Beach, was charged with two counts of deriving support or proceeds from prostitution. Bail was set at $4,000. Dunkle remained jailed this morning.
