T AMPA - Days after a family of three escaped a fire in their Robles Park home, firefighters and fire inspectors canvassed the neighborhood Friday morning, inspecting and installing smoke alarms and communicating safety tips.
About 100 homes were visited and 30 smoke alarms installed, officials said.
Personnel from Tampa Fire Rescue and the Tampa Fire Marshal's Office also spoke about the Change Your Clock, Change Your Battery program, which recommends that residents use the end of daylight saving time on Nov. 1 as a reminder to change the batteries in their smoke alarms.
For information about smoke alarms, call Tampa Fire Rescue at (813) 274-8241 or Hillsborough County Fire Rescue at (813) 744-5541.
