TAMPA - Carrollwood Day's Billy Embody came out throwing and couldn't be stopped.
Embody completed 13 passes for 282 yards in an easy victory against Naples First Baptist.
"When he's hot there's nobody in the county I'd rather have as quarterback," Coach Lane McLaughlin said.
Embody connected with Deuce Gruden for a 14-yard TD in the first 4 minutes.
First Baptist quickly retaliated as Alex Garcia returned the kickoff for 70 yards to put FBA on Carrollwood's 20-yard line. Mike Rodriguez ran it in from the 3 for First Baptist's only touchdown.
On the next possession, Carrollwood's Darius Bing scored his first touchdown. Bing rushed for 175 yards and two touchdowns.
Embody threw a 77-yard pass to Matt Monteilh in the final seconds of the first quarter to put Carrollwood up 21-7. Monteilh and Dillon Floyd each had two touchdowns.
With 7:44 left in the game, First Baptist quarterback Corey Todd took a jarring hit by Gruden and was taken by ambulance to St. Joseph's Hospital. Todd was able to move his hands and feet.
