RUSKIN - Robinson did most of its damage early as the Knights rolled to a 50-12 victory over Lennard for its fourth Class 2A-District 5 win of the season.
The visiting Knights (6-1) scored on their first six possessions, racking up 258 yards in the first half.
Robinson's Blake Rice completed 11 of 19 passes for 143 yards and had five touchdown passes in the game.
On the opening drive, Rice threw a short pass to receiver Frankie Williams, who pitched to running back J.J. Hubbard on a hook-and-lateral play. Hubbard went 48 yards for the game's first score.
Hubbard scored on the Knights' next possession, from 44 yards out. The junior had six carries for 123 yards.
A pass interference call gave the Longhorns (1-5) the ball at the 13-yard line. On the next play, Fred Porter found Mitch Harley in the end zone with 54 seconds left in the half.
"We came out like gangbusters in the first quarter, but after that it was a comedy of errors," Robinson coach Mike DePue said. "We had too many penalties, we didn't play with the intensity we needed, we got to do a heck of a lot better."
