BOYS
CLASS 1A-REGION 3
HOST: Saddlebrook Prep
WHERE: Saddlebrook Golf and Country Club, Palmer Course

TEAMS: Saddlebrook, Academy at the Lakes, Wesley Chapel, Pasco, Bishop McLaughlin
OVERVIEW: Saddlebrook took its district title with help from Alex Bensahel, who won the individual title with a 2-over 73. The Spartans think they have a good shot to advance to state with little competition in the region field. Bishop McLaughlin will send its team for the first time thanks to junior Kentaro Toyota, who won an individual crown with a 77. Academy at the Lakes and Wesley Chapel were a little behind Saddlebrook in the scores, but advanced to the regional as all of Class 1A-District 9 advanced. Pasco came in third in its district with a 383 behind Winton Johnson, who shoots in the mid-80s.
CLASS 2A-REGION 2
HOST: Lake Mary

WHEN: Monday, 9 a.m.
TEAMS: Wiregrass Ranch, Sunlake
OVERVIEW: The Bulls surprised a few people when they took home the Sunshine Athletic Conference title two weeks ago. They came in second with a 337 at their district tournament and have earned their second consecutive regional trip. Wiregrass is led by Nick Stutt and Logan Harrigan, who average in the 80s. Sunlake will be represented by Donald Eubank, who shot 84 to qualify individually.
CLASS 2A-REGION 4
HOST: Riverview
WHERE: Summerfield Crossings Golf Club
WHEN: Monday, 8 a.m.
TEAM: Ridgewood
OVERVIEW: With Mitchell missing the regional by coming in fourth at district by six shots, the only Pasco County player going will be Ridgewood's Austin Padova. GIRLS
CLASS 1A-REGION 3
HOST: Saddlebrook Prep
TEAMS: Pasco, Saddlebrook, Academy at the Lakes, Bishop McLaughlin
OVERVIEW: The Pirates cruised through district to capture the crown, shooting 456 as a team and beating the next-best team by 61 strokes. They are led by Kellianne May, who won individually with a 92 at district. Bishop McLaughlin made history, sending its first girl to district, and sophomore Spencer Valdespino will also make the Hurricanes' first regional appearance. Saddlebrook took its district over Academy at the Lakes, but the teams combine for just three players: Saddlebrook's Lauren Riehle, who shot 90 to win the district title, and Academy at the Lakes' Ellen Crowley and Annike Schroeder, who shoot in the mid- to high 90s.
CLASS 2A-REGION 2
HOST: Lake Mary
WHERE: Magnolia Plantation Golf Course
WHEN: Tuesday, 9 a.m.
TEAM: Zephyrhills
OVERVIEW: The Pasco County teams in this region didn't fare well at district. The Bulldogs came in fourth with a 404, but senior Sarah Baniszewski advanced individually for the second consecutive year after coming in fifth with a 90 at Silverado Golf and Country Club. She struggled during the district, including scoring a 10 on her first hole, but she has buckled down to limit the mistakes.
CLASS 2A-REGION 4
HOST: Mitchell
WHERE: Heritage Springs Golf Course
WHEN: Tuesday, 11 a.m.
TEAM: Mitchell
OVERVIEW: The Mustangs dominated as usual at district when they won by 33 strokes. Mitchell has the VanEtten sisters (senior Megan and sophomore Rebecca), who usually swap the first- and second-place finishes. At district, Rebecca came in second with a 1-under 69, while Megan shot a 72. The Mustangs also have Emma Fivecoat, Victoria Kinney and Kristen Pits, all who shoot in the high 70s or low 80s and give the team plenty of depth.
