Visit to Charlotte

The 10 pictures on your editorial page Sunday included five people with the planning commission ("Seeing is believing," Views, Oct. 25). Why are we paying for five people from the same agency to go to Charlotte to ride a train and get "stoked"?

The planning commission is already on record supporting the current goofy transit plan making its way to the ballot box. Did anybody in that picture pay their own way to Charlotte to ride the train? What new information did we learn that warranted the expenditure, other than to provide a new propaganda piece for Mother Trib?

I challenge anybody in that picture to a debate on the merits of the current plan. Want to sponsor something, Mother Trib?
