WESLEY CHAPEL - Saddlebrook Prep is still looking to get a foursome.

For the second straight year, the Spartans did not have four girls on their team and Monday when they hosted the Class 1A-Region 3 tournament at their Palmer Course, it was no different.

"We just haven't had enough girls for some reason," Coach Mike Tali said.

It's hindered Saddlebrook's runs at state berths, including this year when its two players, Lauren Riehle and Anika Schroeder, did not advance.

The Villages came in first with a team 382, winning by 69 strokes. Pasco came in third with a 453 and Hernando finished sixth with a 560. Kristine Odaiyar of Ocala St. John shot a tournament best 5-under 66, edging out the regional boys' top performer by three strokes and moving onto state as well.

Riehle finished fifth with a 82 and Schroeder had an 89.

Other county scorers included Pasco's Kellianne May (91), Bishop McLaughlin's Spencer Valdespino (96) and Academy at the Lakes' Ellen Crowley (98).
