Halloween is just days away and ghosts and goblins will be hitting the streets.
But today it was Tampa police detectives turn to go door-to-door.
Visiting sexual offenders and predators.
They're reminding them they can't have any contact with children.
"We want the predators the offenders to know that they are not allowed entice kids in any way by having candy on the porch by dressing up in any Halloween costumes or by even having the Halloween decorations on their house," said detective Yolanda Cox.
Hundreds of sexual predators and offenders are getting the visits that are a follow up meeting they have already had with their probation officer.
Police say while the visits may seem to only take place around Halloween, they actually take place year-round.
"We are out here monitoring the situation not just on Halloween," said Cox. "We are out here everyday and if it is not us, it is our street unit also following up on our offenders."
So as trick-or-treaters get ready to collect their bags of candy, Tampa police want to make sure they are safe from any who could potentially harm them.
