TAMPA - If you think you're in a fog when you walk outside this morning, you're not alone.

Foggy and cloudy – not to mention warm and humid – conditions are the rule across the Tampa Bay area as above-normal temperatures continue their grip.

Highs today are expected to flirt with the 90-degree mark in Tampa under partly cloudy skies and a 30 percent chance of showers. The same is true for Thursday.

"The highs are fairly above normal for this time of year,'' said Nicole Carlisle, forecaster with the National Weather Service in Ruskin. "This week has not been so great.''

Unless you like sweating and having bad hair days, that is.

The normal high in Tampa this time of year is 82; the normal low is 65. Highs have been running in the mid- and upper 80s, and lows have been in the lower and mid-70s the past few days.

Don't expect a break until at least the end of the weekend or the first part of next week, which will make for a steamy, sweltering Halloween on Saturday.

Temperatures should start to retreat some by late Sunday or early Monday. That's when the next dose of cooler, drier air should come with the passage of a cold front.

"Hopefully, that will get the temperatures back to near normal,'' Carlisle said.
