ST. PETERSBURG - Berkeley Prep will face Clearwater Central Catholic in the final of Class 3A-District 10 tonight as a result of semifinal play Wednesday at St. Petersburg Catholic.

Clearwater Central Catholic, the No. 3 seed, upended second-seeded Tampa Catholic with a come-from-behind win. Tampa Catholic had won the first game 25-18 but CCC rallied to win the next three games and the match 25-9, 25-17, 27-25.

No. 1 seed Berkeley Prep performed as expected and beat host St. Petersburg Catholic 25-16, 25-13, 25-15.

"We started off really flat," CCC coach Andrew Wilson said. "We weren't playing defense. We were out of position. I think out of (Tampa Catholic's) first nine points we had seven errors.

"After that we kind of settled down. The second game we came out, didn't make the errors, were aggressive and communicated so much better."

Mary Michael Toups had 24 kills for the Marauders, Vanessa Annoni added 44 assists, and Kalyn Baird had 11 kills.

In the Berkeley Prep match, MacKenzie Dagostino and Jordan Burgess each had eight kills for the Buccaneers. Ginny Willis added 18 assists and 14 service points.
