ST. PETERSBURG - No. 1 seed Berkeley Prep won the Class 3A-District 10 volleyball championship by beating Clearwater Central Catholic 25-14, 25-21, 25-15 Thursday night.
The Buccaneers improved to 24-3.
"We've had a great season so far," said Berkeley Prep coach Randy Dagostino. "This is the first step in our goal to win a state championship."
Berkeley Prep's MacKenzie Dagostino had 11 kills, Jordan Burgess had eight kills and Amber Mirabello had seven kills.
Ginny Willis led the Buccaneers in assists with 16, and Dagostino had 15. Natasha Rowland added 21 digs.
"We didn't come out with as much fire as we hoped," Clearwater Central Catholic coach Andrew Wilson said, "but we have played a lot of tough teams this year and I feel we have gotten better."
Mary Michael Toups of Clearwater Central Catholic had 11 kills and Vanessa Annoni added 17 assists.
Berkeley Prep will host the 3A-District 9 runner-up Tuesday, while Clearwater Central Catholic will play at the 3A-9 winner.
