SEMINOLE - From late in the second quarter to five minutes into the third, Spoto running back Rodney Williams only touched the ball three times.
The result was three touchdowns.
Williams' timely scoring enabled Spoto to pull away from Osceola in what turned out to be an easy win Thursday night.
Williams' three scores midway through the game came on runs of 16, 20 and 3 yards. Williams added a 1-yard plunge for a 36-7 lead on the first play of the fourth quarter.
"I was blessed because my offensive line blocked so well for me," Williams said. He finished with 63 yards on 11 carries.
Williams wasn't the only player making big plays. Dominic Addison had a pair of interceptions, one of which he returned for a 63-yard pick-six, his second of the season.
"I'm a good reader so I read plays well," Addison said. "After the bump I read a wheel route and I was able to score with it."
The win improved Spoto to 7-2 overall and 3-1 in Class 3A-District 8 play, while Osceola fell to 2-7 and 1-3. Spoto can earn the district's runner-up spot and a berth in the playoffs if it beats Lakewood next week at home.
