GAINESVILLE - A University of Florida professor has resigned amid allegations he had sexual relations with students in his classes.
A school spokeswoman confirmed Thursday that Michael T. Garrett stepped down. He was director of the School of Human Development and Organizational Studies and a professor of counselor education.
Garrett was accused of violating rules against sexual contact between a professor and students he or she supervises.
The 39-year-old was placed on administrative leave in September and resigned Oct. 2. Because he stepped down before the probe was finished, the school said it can't be completed.
No telephone listing for Garrett could be located.
