PANAM - Officials believe they have located an alligator that escaped after a Florida Fish and Wildlife officer brought the animal to his daughter's school for show and tell.
FWC spokesman Stan Kirkland says officials think the 5-foot alligator is in a Panhandle pond. Authorities weren't able to capture the critter Friday.
Searchers scoured a wooded area surrounding the school Friday afternoon after the alligator jumped out of the man's vehicle with it's mouth taped shut.
Kirkland says he heard the schoolchildren were "impressed" with the demonstration.
