Disney Cruise Line said this week it will equip its new Disney Dream cruise ship with a 765-foot-long high-speed flume ride that will send passengers on inflatable rafts through a clear acrylic tube that will extend beyond the ship's edge.
The AquaDuck technology uses a technology similar to that used at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon water coaster.
The Disney Dream also will provide inside cabins with "virtual portholes," giving passengers a view of the ocean.
The Disney Dream will carry up to 4,000 passengers in 1,250 cabins on sailings from Port Canaveral to Nassau, Bahamas, and the Disney Island Castaway Cay beginning in January 2011.
The ship is under construction in Germany.
