WESLEY CHAPEL - It took just one play into the second half for Wiregrass Ranch to pull away and defeat its district rival River Ridge on Friday.

On the first play from scrimmage in the third quarter, with a 14-7 lead, Bulls quarterback James Tringali hit receiver Avery Manning for a 62-yard pass, and three plays later running back Josh Johnson scored his second rushing touchdown.

"We told these kids to just come out and finish this game," Wiregrass coach Jeremy Shobe said. "We weren't worried because we had the offense going the whole night."

Both Tringali and Johnson had solid games for Wiregrass (5-3, 2-1). Tringali went 7-for-14 for 148 yards passing and two touchdowns, including a 36-yard strike to Blake Burch. Johnson had scoring runs of 9 and 3 yards and a 6-yard receiving score, on his way to finishing with a game-high 157 rushing yards.

Burch led all receivers with four catches for 73 yards.

The Royal Knights (2-6, 0-3) scored in the second quarter on a 20-yard touchdown run by Stavros Arianas, who lead River Ridge with 109 rushing yards on 19 carries.
