Authorities say fire was seen on a JetBlue flight from Orlando after landing safely in the Bahamas.
JetBlue spokesman Bryan Baldwin says Flight 1781 from Orlando International Airport to Nassau landed this afternoon about an hour after taking off. Fire was reported being seen from the left side of the plane near the engine.
The 89 passengers — including five infants — and four crew members were removed from the plane using evacuation slides on the other side of the aircraft. Airport officials in Nassau extinguished the flames.
Baldwin said no one was injured and there was no visible damage to the plane.
No further information was immediately released. Baldwin says the aircraft is out of service and JetBlue will investigate.
