ST. PETERSBURG - A motorcyclist who was shot Wednesday has been identified as Randel Allen Toombs, 27, of Clearwater, St. Petersburg police said.
Toombs was shot in the neck about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, police said. Afterward, he managed to flag down a Pinellas County deputy in South Pasadena, police said.
Investigators determined Toombs had been shot not in South Pasadena, which falls within the sheriff's jurisdiction, but in an alley just north of 701 Pasadena Ave. N., which falls within St. Petersburg's city limits.
Toombs told police he was talking to a woman who was standing next to a man, and the man hit him in the face and shot him.
Toombs was in good condition this morning at Bayfront Medical Center. His wound was not life-threatening, police spokesman George Kajtsa said.
Police are looking for the woman and man, Kajtsa said.
