Holiday trashes city's collections

TAMPA - There will be no make-up day for city residents whose trash, yard waste and recycling collection will be delayed by the Labor Day holiday on Monday.
For affected customers, trash will be picked up on the next regularly scheduled garbage day, Thursday, according to the city's solid waste department.
Yard waste and residential curbside recycling will not be picked up until Sept. 14.
The make-up days were eliminated this year as part of budget cuts.
The changes are expected to save the city $460,000 a year.
