PLANT CITY - Antonio Morris scored with 4:21 left in the game to break a 3-3 tie game and Je' Twan Smith scored two minutes later to seal the game and vault Durant over Chamberlain.
Running back Morris ran for 102 yards on the night on 12 carries. Overall, the Cougars ran for 209 yards and threw for another 63.
The score could have been a lot worse, but Durant fumbled the ball on the Chamberlain 13-yard line in the first half and on the Chiefs' 6 in the second half.
Durant's defense came up big by sacking Chamberlain quarterbacks four times, getting an interception and recovering a fumble late in the fourth quarter.
Josh Halferty collected two of the sacks and came up big in a number of plays. T.J. Davis intercepted Chamberlain with 6:24 left in the game, setting up the first of the two touchdowns.
Chamberlain quarterbacks Travis Hanchett and Thadeu Baxley threw for 106 yards in seven of 13 attempts. Blake Bell caught three passes for 48 yards and Will Whiteside caught a pass for 35 yards. The latter set up Chamberlain's only score of the night, a 35-yard field goal by kicker Jack Orchard with 6:20 left in the first quarter.
