GROVELAND - Tampa Catholic quarterback Christian Green threw two first-half touchdown passes and Henry McCloud scored twice as the Crusaders (1-0) beat Groveland South Lake.

Green completed a scoring pass of six yards to Maronte Gilbert. Green later hit McCloud with a 7-yard scoring pass.

Placekicker Mike Paleveda successfully booted all four points after.

Tampa Catholic finished with 276 yards rushing while South Lake had just 91 yards rushing for the game.

McCloud finished with 68 yards rushing on 12 carries.

South Lake scored with 6:45 left in the third quarter on Chris Floyd's 4-yard run. It was set up by a 40-yard run by quarterback Stanley Evans.

Tampa Catholic fullback Hunter Joyer scored on a 1-yard plunge with 4:44 left in the third quarter.

South Lake finished up its scoring on a 59-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter with 5:54 left in the game. Jonathan Cox hit Nick Waisome on the scoring pass to make the score 21-14.

Then with 39 seconds left in the game, McCloud scored Tampa Catholic's final touchdown on a 26-yard run.
