TAMPA - When the Bucs put their franchise tag on receiver Antonio Bryant, they committed to paying him $9.88 million in 2009 - the average of the 10 highest receiver salaries in the National Football League. Most work-a-day types have no way to relate to an annual salary with a decimal point, so TBO.com created the Antonio Bryant Franchise Calculator.
Just plug in your annual income and the calculator will tell you how quickly Bryant earns your pay in terms of games, catches, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns, based on his 2008 statistics (16 games, 83 catches, 1,248 yards, seven touchdowns). It also will tell you how many years and lifetimes you would have to work to earn Bryant's nearly $10 million salary.
For example, if your annual income is $45,000, Bryant earns your salary:
* Every .07 games
* Every .38 catches
* Every 5.68 yards
* Every .03 touchdowns
To earn Bryant's 2009 salary would take you:
* 219.6 years
* 4.9 lifetimes
