GAINESVILLE - University of Florida coach Urban Meyer said freshman WR Andre Debose will have surgery for a torn tendon in his hamstring.
UF had hoped he could help take up the slack for the departure of Percy Harvin to the NFL.
"We don't have a date yet," Meyer said. "It's a tendon, and part of the muscle is detached on the bone and they are going to go in and attach it."
PATCHAN GETTING LOOK: With serious depth problems at tight end, OL Matt Patchan (Armwood) is a candidate to step in and help out - especially when UF goes to two tight ends.
"We're working on a couple of things right now," offensive coordinator Steve Addazio said. "Obviously, Matt Patchan is a guy who can handle that role as well. He's very athletic guy, a fast guy."
