BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - The University of South Florida will be without wide receiver Jessie Hester for Saturday's game at Western Kentucky.
Hester, who suffered torn ankle ligaments in the spring, also injured his hamstring during practice this week and will not play against the Hilltoppers.
On Thursday, USF coach Jim Leavitt addressed Hester's struggles to come back from the ankle injury.
"That injury has been pretty frustrating for him I'm sure (with this being his) senior year," Leavitt said. "I remember saying a long time ago how worried I was about him. I obviously was right.
"If you don't see a guy coming around, responding, it's hard. He's not in the flow, right now. He's not."
Hester's school record of 22 consecutive games with a reception was snapped last week against Wofford.
Last season, Hester led the Bulls with 54 receptions for 579 yards, both totals the second-most in school history.
