New online map provides TECO outage information

TAMPA - Tampa Electric Co. has launched an online map that shows the location and other information about power failures.
In addition to showing where the outage occurred, the map has a color code for the size as well as the approximate number of customers affected.
It also provides an estimate of when power will be restored.
Information on the map is updated every 15 minutes.
The map does not provide a reason for the power failure that can range from weather to traffic accidents or an animal coming in contact with equipment.
