Oil drilling shortsighted

Drill here? Drill now?! It's not foreign oil we must wean ourselves off; it's oil, period.

Even if you challenge the existence of human induced climate change, there is no denying the increase of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere over the past couple of centuries. That is a measurable fact, and burning petroleum has played a major role. Not to mention its toxic by-products poisoning the Earth's air and water.

It is unlikely the planet can absorb the combustion of the oil we've already discovered, forget about additional finds. Drilling for more oil is shortsighted, misguided, self-defeating behavior, especially when we haven't come close to exhausting conservation efforts.

Drill here, drill now? No way, no how.
