As players make their way back to the ice in preparation for another hockey season and acquaintances are either made or re-established over handshakes, one question always comes up: "How was your summer?".
So throughout Lightning training camp, we'll ask players how they spent their summer vacation.
Today, we find out what Lightning center Jeff Halpern described as a "boring" summer.
Halpern: "I worked out, played some golf, I go to the movies, that's about all I do, really. I'm a big cookout guy, so we did some barbecue. I put a television out back so we can watch movies while we cook out. I took a couple of trips to New York, one on Memorial Day weekend and then again in July to catch a couple of Yankees games. I headed out to Las Vegas for the players association meetings and then I took a trip with my girlfriend to Dewey Beach (in Delaware) and spent a week there. So, not a lot really. I like to keep it pretty simple over the summer."
