TIA ranks 17th in on-time arrivals, 12th in on-time departures

TAMPA - Tampa International Airport ranked 17th in on-time arrivals performance and 12th in departure performance in July, a report by the federal Bureau of Transportation Statistics showed.
The report showed that 78.8 percent of flights arrived in Tampa within 15 minutes of schedule -- the Transportation Department's on-time benchmark – while 79.8 percent took off on-time.
Among the nation's largest airports in July, Portland had the best departure performance with 87.2 percent of flights on time and Miami had the worst at 66 percent.
Salt Lake City had the best arrivals performance with 85 percent of flights on time, while the worst was LaGuardia Airport in New York at 66.3 percent.
